Where can I find the Meningitis vaccine?

You can get the Meningitis vaccine at any major pharmacy. TGS also arranges it for our Hajj travelers.

What type of clothing should I bring to Saudi Arabia?

What is an Ihram and How Should I Wear It?

Ihram is the sacred state a pilgrim enters before performing Hajj or Umrah. For men, the Ihram consists of two simple white sheets. The first sheet is wrapped around the waist, covering from the navel to the ankles. It is secured with a belt or strip of fabric. The second sheet is draped over the shoulders. Men must wear sandals or shoes that do not cover the ankles and should not wear any head coverings or underwear. Women may wear any modest dress that meets Islamic guidelines, with the head covered, but the face and hands uncovered.

What Are the Rules While in a State of Ihram?

While in Ihram, a Muhrim (a pilgrim in this state) must observe these important rules:

  • Men must keep their heads uncovered, while women must keep their heads covered.
  • Avoid cutting hair, clipping nails, using perfume, or wearing sewn clothing (for men).
  • Do not perform or arrange marriages.
  • Killing animals is prohibited unless for safety reasons.
